If someone would pay me to go to school I would probably be the happiest person on the planet. I think that is because, I am if nothing else very curious. Therefore when I hear or see something in the MSM or on a blog that has gaping holes in it I am driven to find out what the "real" story is. That is what happened in the last two or three days since reading several stories concerning Iraqi funding of al Qaida terrorist, camps, as well as other terrorist organizations. Because I am interested in the "truth" aka what really happened I would love to have someone answer a few pertinent questions for me.
Who decided to ignore the old saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" ? After all nothing brings people together than despising someone else. Why wouldn't Saddam work with Osama against their common enemies.
Why didn't members of the Senate Intelligence Committee complain about a lack of evidence of WMD's and terrorist relationships in Iraqi before the invasion? Why did they wait so long to voice their opinions? Did it take them that long to decide which side of the issue was most politically advantageous?
Were the previous U.S. Presidents who stated the danger of terror merchants like Saddam Hussein (Clinton, Reagan, Carter) in the twilight zone, high from peanut fumes or in the afterglow or did they have faulty data as well?
How do you tell if data is "true" or not?
Who do you trust? It has been apparent for years that the Iraqis will say whatever necessary to get their way or get them out of trouble. Do you trust the detainees, the government, or the "freedom fighters?"(and I use that term sarcastically)
There seems to be a lot more information coming out about not just WMD's but ties between the former government of Iraq and terrorist organizations all over the world. Much of this information seems to be things that the intelligence community should have been paying much closer attention to.
The Weekly Standard has several interesting articles about the data mining going on from Iraqi documents recovered during the war. This interesting information dribbling out, no thanks to career bureaucrats who are behaving much like Gollum in the Lord of the Rings. One can almost see them wringing their hands and muttering "my precious."
My last question is who are these bureaucrats working for? Maybe they should leave their political ideology at home when they go to work-they could instead work for the good of the country and not to advance their own political agendas.
