Hallelujah

I thought I would never see it. I thought maybe the silent majority had died from neglect. I thought there were no common sense driven people left in this country.

I was wrong.

I repent.

Yesterday was a "Watershed" event. The people stood up and flexed their muscles. They told their representative that if they wanted to remain in office they'd better HEEL.
here
here
and even here.

We have a representative government, or at least we're supposed to have. I hope our elected representatives have gotten the picture, finally. They do what we want them to do, not the other way 'round.

At least that's the Conservative approach. Liberals are so sure they know better than the rest of us, therefore they get to make the decisions. Which makes Kennedy's part in the amnesty bill debacle easier to understand. Bush and McCain, I can't even hazard a guess as to why they would take part in an effort that is guaranteed to, at least in McCains case end their political careers. He can kiss his chances of running for President goodbye, because even if he is the nominee, nothing except a Hillary presidency would force many on the right to voter for him.

Those who stood tall, never wavering are the real heros. That is the kind of leadership we need in this country now. Some of the candidates need to get out of the running. Mr McCain, Mr. Brownback, Mr./Ms Clinton, Mr. Edwards and the rest need to step aside and allow someone with personal integrity, courage and common sense get on with the daunting task of rebuilding the American peoples trust in their government. Oh and deporting the 12 to 16 million criminals who have invaded our shores, stole our resources and hobbled our local, state and federal government.

Hopefully all of the has beens will join Barbara Striesand and her wife and leave for France, where apparently they are welcome. Goodbye and don't write.

The End?

So Mr. Nifong has been disbarred and fired. Does this mean the end of this unpleasant and disgusting saga? Oh contraire.

Those who still believe the accuser will still believe her. People like disbarred lawyer Alton Maddox (of the Tawana Brawley debacle) will continue to screech racism, because that is what they want to believe. If they can't focus on racism as a life cause what will they do? They will have no ax to grind, nothing to write about, and no one to hate. They might have to actually look at people who are different then themselves as, just people, instead of the evil, foul, vicious, malevolent creatures that inhabit the nightmares of people everywhere.

Are there evil people, absolutely. One can find them anywhere, among any culture, race or nationality. One group does not have a monopoly on evil. Nor does it have a monopoly on bigotry. Most people, especially people who believe in a supreme being, work diligently to cast that kind of behavior and thought from their lives. They try not to assign evil tendencies to whole groups of people just because some idiots feel they must reinforce stereotypes. These believers have a hard row to hoe however when those in leadership positions within cultures rely on lies, prejudices, and misinformation instead of relying on actual facts.

Who should be held accountable for this mess. " The Victim" and Nifong of course but they had willing and helpful conspirators. The media, especially the hacks that work for the New York Times, the Duke 88 as well as apologists Ruth Sheehan for the Charlotte Observer (ironic huh).

This is just the tip of the iceberg however. Many, many more PC types rushed to judgement before the facts could even be collected. Like every other "Politically Correct" issue the supporters just can't wait to "DO" something. My dad used to have a saying "It doesn't matter what you do as long as you do something". I think that philosophy more than anything is what encouraged me to be conservative. It does matter what you do, why you do it and when. More harm than good comes from rushing to judgement. Always, every time, eternally. If you can't take the time to find out what really happened than you have no right to judge, or an opinion to give. I guess that that would put journalists and editorial writers as well as documentary producers/directors/stars out of jobs.

I can live with that.
