I Believe

While I don't speak for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am a practicing member and have been close to 30 years. I have raised 6 children in my faith and all but one are faithful, diligent, Latter-day Saints. I am increasing tired and disgusted by the rampant stupidity and outright bigotry that has surfaced during this political campaign. Even if no one ever reads this blog it will contain my witness of WHAT I BELIEVE as a member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.

I believe in God the Eternal Father and in His son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost.

I believe man will be judged for his own sins not for Adam's transgression.

I believe that mankind can be saved through the Atonement of Jesus Christ but only by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

I believe in faith, repentance, baptism and conformation (gift of the Holy Ghost), by those in authority to act in the name of Jesus Christ.

I believe that in order for man to act in authority he must be called of God.

I believe in the same organization that Christ maintained while he was on the Earth, including prophets, apostles, pastors(bishops), teachers, evangelists among others.

I believe in the gifts of God including but not limited to; prophecy, visions, healing, the gift of tongues and the interpreting of the same, revelations....

I believe the Bible to be the word of God, I also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

I believe God has reveled and will continue to reveal many wonderful and not so wonderful things to us, in order to prepare us for his eventual return. And he WILL return.

I believe that God will gather his people as he promised anciently to Jacob. I believe it is happening now and will continue to happen until all who will hear his voice are gathered.

I believe everyone has a right and privilege to worship whatever or whoever they chose. God, Budda, Muhammad, Satan, Money, Sex, or Hitlary Clinton. I expect to be accorded the same privilege.

I believe in obeying the laws of the country in which I live. I believe in the orderly transition of power and in sustaining those in positions of authority, until such time as they show by their behavior they should be removed from power (by legal means only)

I believe in supporting and encouraging good, positive, honest, upright, benevolent and true behavior and ideals. "If there is anything virtuous, lovely, of good report or praise worthy I seek after these things.

Finally I believe in the two great commandments, love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself. "On this hang all the laws and the prophets."

I am not alone 12 million plus members of the LDS church believe as I do. This is the great "cult". I believe other things as well, one of which is that God is probably sorry he even thought to create man. I know I would be. I think His time would have been better spent, rearranging the cosmos or cleaning out the "eternal fridge", but I'm not as patient, loving or wise as God, nor do I know his mind. My job is to be obedient, follow the plan and return and report. Somedays are easier than others.
