Teh Funny
Several years ago I happened on a rather funny website. It's called IMAO (in my arrogant opinion perhaps?) It took news of the day twisted it, squeezed it and then stomped on it until it was funny. I have spent many, many happy hours reading FrankJ, SarahK, Harvey, Right Wing Duck and Spacemonkey just to name a few. Then there are the posters, Desert Elephant, AlanABQ, ussjimmycarter, Jimmy, Scotty and a cast of thousands. That all ended today. What could have been so offensive to me that I would delete this sight from my bookmarks?
Since the fall there has been an increasing amount of Anti-Mormon rhetoric being spewed by long time posters and trolls alike. The long time posters are at least polite and have substantive arguments to make concerning whether Mitt Romney was the right person to lead the Republican Party and the country. The trolls on the other hand were foul mouthed, offensive and untruthful. This is just a sample of what everyone, including those of us who are LDS (Mormon) had to put up with yesterday and today.

Frank, I bet it takes you about 2 years to get so tired of Mormons from living there in the land of Moroni that you would have regretted a Romney victory anyway. Besides, he may have condemned us all to the "outer darkness" anyway.

Joe claims others are using his name to write this stuff but in posts past he has been just as offensive.
So I have decided that, for now, I will simply stop going to that sight. I'll find something else to do with my time. Maybe I'll read my Book of Mormon or visit the sick or infirm. Maybe I'll play with my grandsons or kill trolls (in a game, not for the reals). Someday maybe I'll go back. Someday maybe I'll care who wins an election, or who is appointed to the Supreme Court.
Someday.
But not today. Today I hope the Second Coming is soon. Today I hope people pick the worst choice and they have to spend 4 long, miserable years regretting their mistake. Today I hope whoever becomes president is worse than Taft, Carter, Nixon, Clinton and Bush put together. Today I hope California, especially Hollywood falls into the sea, Mexicans re-claim Arizona and Osama Bin Laden is elected head of OPEC.
That's because I'm old, tired, discouraged and bitter and I see nothing coming through the tunnel except another train. It's time for my daily dose of WOW, or my depression will get the best of me.
